Why choose us?
For us, it’s simple: life’s too short for watching it happen from the sidelines.
A retreat is about joy, play, discovery, and feeling 100% alive. We want you to have the kind of moments you’ll be proud of for the rest of your life. Watching the sunrise from a mountain. Holding your breath next to barracudas and moray eels. Crossing a mountain pass before breakfast. Swapping ridiculous stories.
We’re super picky about our destinations, suppliers, and team. Every trip aligns strongly with our values.
We’re not here for mass group tours or Insta-worthy trips. We’re here for people who want a real adventure. Who are up for laughing hard, getting dirty, going offline, and maybe do some stupid sh*t.
Meet your hosts
HAPPY TO BE GONE WITH YOU

Judith
I grew up in the Netherlands, a country defined by structure, safety, and clear expectations. I did everything right: excelled at school, went to university, and landed a good job. Yet, it never truly clicked. The best part of my day was spending time outside with my dog. Beneath the surface, I felt drawn to a different life, something wilder and outdoors.
Gradually, I reshaped my life around that feeling. Hiking the Himalayas every year, diving, and living in a van to keep nature close at all times. GONE is where I bring these two worlds together: a space where intellect meets instinct. My goal is to show people that adventure isn’t a break from life, but the way back into it.

Kim
While other kids dreamed of becoming firefighters or ballerinas, I wanted to be a marine biologist. I grew up near Hamburg, with my nose in books about whales and deserted islands. Nature always felt like home — especially underwater. As I got older, I built a career in event and operations management, eventually becoming COO at a travel company creating raw, honest experiences of my hometown.
But the more time I spent behind screens, the stronger the pull toward the outdoors. In 2024, I left the city and moved to Tarifa, a wild, windy town at the edge of Spain. With GONE, I now bring together both worlds: the sharp organizer and the girl who thrives in nature. I design experiences that are precise, grounded, and rooted in the belief that in nature, we feel most like ourselves.
What to expect?
Small groups (maximum 10).
Convenient and secure booking process. No sketchy bank transfers or vague emails.
Professionally qualified, experienced, and insured facilitators (no volunteers or trainees).
Regular communication and information before, during and after your adventure.
Local operators who share our values. Licensed, safety-checked, and deeply rooted in the area.
A digital detox. Because real life happens offline.
Zero greenwashing or fake eco talk. If we say something is sustainable or ethical, we mean it and we’ve checked it.
Small groups. Always. Usually 8–16 people, chosen for their vibe and values.
We take safety seriously. Ourselves? Not so much.

Who is this for?
For nature and adventure lovers who want to live a life less ordinary. We love guests who bring positivity to a group (we don’t allow drama). We welcome people who care about the environment, the group vibe, and showing up with respect. For nature, for animals, for others, and for yourself. And it’s important that participants are okay with plans shifting when the weather does. And they’re here for real connection, not just the Instagram version of adventure.
You should be physically and mentally fit for active days. If you have any health conditions, please let us know in advance so we can make sure this trip is right for you.
Minimum age: 18.
You don’t need to be an experienced freediver or professional mountaineer.
But you should feel comfortable in open water and enjoy being active outdoors, whether that means hiking steep trails, jumping into cold water, or holding your breath a little longer than feels easy.
What you need to know
Cancellations, Credits & Insurance
Please make sure you read our Terms and Conditions before booking to avoid surprises or disappointment.
Travel Insurance (Required)
All guests must have personal travel insurance that covers illness, travel interruptions, and weather-related cancellations. This is for your peace of mind as well as ours.
Weather-Related Cancellations
In the event that parts of the retreat are cancelled or rescheduled due to weather conditions, we’ll offer credit vouchers for the missed components. These can be used to join us again in the future.
Cancellation Policy
As a small-scale operation, we commit to fixed costs well in advance — including accommodation, permits, guides, and insurance. That’s why we can’t offer flexible refunds. Instead, we offer a clear policy:
Up to 10 weeks before departure
70% refund of the total amount paid (excluding the deposit), or full credit for a future retreat
10 to 6 weeks before departure
50% refund (excluding the deposit), or 70% credit
Less than 6 weeks before departure
No refund or credit
You may transfer your spot to someone else, if arranged at least 10 days before the retreat starts
We appreciate your understanding and recommend booking only once you’re confident you can attend, and are protected by insurance, just in case.
FAQs
Do you offer payment plans?
Yes. We offer flexible payment plans to make this experience more accessible. You can pay in installments, with the final balance due 8 weeks before the retreat. Let us know what you need, and we’ll do our best to make it work.
What if I need to cancel?
Life happens. Our cancellation policy is designed to be as fair as possible while allowing us to protect the trip for the rest of the group. Deposits are non-refundable. If you cancel more than 8 weeks before the start date, you’ll receive a partial refund or credit. Within 8 weeks, we can’t offer refunds, but name transfers may be available. We strongly recommend travel insurance.
What if I don’t want to be picked up from Málaga?
No problem. If you’re arriving by your own transport or from a different location, just let us know. We’ll help coordinate where and when to meet the group.
How experienced do I need to be?
This trip is for people who love adventure and being active, not professional athletes.
What’s the vibe like?
Fun. Chilled. Supportive. This is not a party trip or a bootcamp. It’s a chance to connect, with yourself, with nature, and with a like-minded crew. Expect lots of laughs, deep chats, spontaneous sea dips, group dinners and swapping stories around a campfire.
Can I arrive earlier or stay longer?
Absolutely. Many guests like to arrive a few days early or extend their stay to explore more of Andalusia. We can recommend places to stay nearby and help with suggestions, just let us know your plans.
What airport should I fly into?
The closest airport is Málaga (AGP). From there, we’ll provide clear info about pick-up times and meeting points. If you're coming from another city, we can help guide you on train or bus connections.
What if I have dietary restrictions?
No worries. Whether you're vegetarian, gluten-free, or allergic to something specific, just tell us in advance. We'll make sure your meals are delicious, nourishing, and meet your needs.
Do I need travel insurance?
Yes. Travel insurance is mandatory for all participants. It should cover medical emergencies, cancellations, and any last-minute changes. Better safe than sorry.
Is this trip suitable if I’m coming alone?
100%. We love offering a space where you can meet like-minded people in real life.
We know that in everyday life, it can be hard to find people who share your love for nature, the ocean, or adventure, especially when you're juggling busy jobs, family life, or just the pace of modern life. And while solo travel is powerful, it can also feel a little... well, lonely.
This retreat is the best of both worlds. No pressure, no forced bonding, just good people, good food, and sharing epic adventures in nature.
Can I use my phone?
Nope. Phones are handed in at the start and returned at the end. If you have a specific reason you need occasional access (family, work, etc.), let us know in advance so we can make arrangements.
What should I pack?
We’ll send you a detailed packing list after booking, with tips based on the season and activities.
